How payment works
x402 for agents
Call a /x402/v1/ route. An unpaid call returns HTTP 402 with the exact terms; an x402 client signs a USDC authorization and retries. A keyless facilitator (PayAI, or XPay as fallback) settles it on Base and the answer or download link comes back in the same response.
Plain transfer for files
Start an order to get an exact, order-specific amount. Send it from any wallet as one USDC transfer on Base and paste the transaction hash. The Worker checks the chain, token, recipient, amount, status, time and confirmations itself, then releases a signed link.
Never charged for nothing
School Signals queries are checked before any payment: unknown or ambiguous buyers, invalid filters and empty results are refused with no 402. Each transaction hash is accepted once.
| Network | Base mainnet, chain id 8453 |
|---|---|
| Token | USDC (Circle), contract 0x833589fCD6eDb6E08f4c7C32D4f71b54bdA02913 |
| Recipient | 0x491Fcf30a5aa0483B3cd8C0041d21801F195B3AF |
| Not accepted | Other chains (including Solana), bridged USDbC, other tokens, card payments |
Payment goes straight to the seller's own wallet. There is no merchant of record, card processor or platform in between, and payments on Base are irreversible. Buyers pay Base gas on plain transfers; on x402 the facilitator pays it. See how to verify a payment.
